ARON ZINSHTEIN
Born in Nizhny Tagil, Ural, 1947 Graduated from the Ural School of Applied Arts, 1968 Graduated from the Mukhina Art Academy, Leningrad. 1977 Member of the Union of Artists, 1988 Member of the Academy of Contemporary Art, St. Petersburg, 1994 Aron Zinshtein’s oil technique could be viewed as a spur-of-the-moment expressionist style. His main interest is portraitpainting, or occasionally any other genre such as cityscape, but filled with human figures. It seems that his enormous artistic energy intertwines with the energetic aura of a model, thus making his painting a success. The spontaneous gesture imprints in the smudges of paint outline the figures with such dynamism that it almost seems as though the figures are being pulled out of the canvas. This deeply emotional painterly substance on the move defines his very unique artistic identity. It’s fascinating how his childish and self-centered style enables a model to convey a personality in paint marked with the artist’s warmth and admiration. There are no mechanically photographically driven bodies, but instead the elevated images of human beings that happen to be the artist’s companions in his earthy life. < BACK
