Does it really matter what a poet does besides writing, how he/she earns a living. Do poets working in the same field have anything in common? Poets/teachers, poets/architects… Our series is about the word to the right of the slash. On May 10, the word is "psychologists, psychiatrist and social workers".

The poets will say a few words on their experience being professional interpreters in America and the ways everyday work informs their writing. They will read their poetry in Russian.

Anna have published many works in her field of psychology but have found poetry to be a more adequate and condensed way to expand on the same themes - growing up as a child of Holocaust survivors in a country still struggling with past trauma, living in three countries (Lithuania, Russia, U.S.), and immigration. Her creative work has been published by Bluestem, Cimarron Review, St. Petersburg Review, and Tiferet, as well as in the Lithuanian journals Literatūra Ir Menas and Šiaurės Atėnai, and she has studied with Saskia Hamilton and Eileen Myles.
